Update on Digital Assets:  Florida’s New Law for Fiduciaries

S. Dresden Brunner, a trust and estates practitioner, will explain what digital assets are (financial online accounts, email accounts and much more) and why they are relevant for all trust and estate attorneys and beyond.  Dresden was on the Digital Assets Committee of the Florida Bar that was responsible for drafting the new law, “Florida Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act,” which became effective in July 2016.  Dresden will share everything from the basics of the law, which insures that fiduciaries are able to access digital assets upon an individual’s incapacity or death, to important updates since the law has been enacted.  Digital asset issues span all practice areas and Dresden’s unique insights after being one of the drafters of the legislation makes this a can’t miss presentation!  One CLE credit has been approved.
